Collegedale

Collegedale is located in Hamilton County, Tennessee and was incorporated in 1968, buts its history can be traced as far back as 1916. Collegedale is located in an ideal location, only minutes from three major interstates, numerous highways, and the Chattanooga Metropolitan Airport.

Collegedale is the home to The Southern Adventist University operated by the Seventh-day Adventist Church, offering graduate programs in business, education, psychology, nursing and religion. The university is home to over 2,500 students from all 50 states and many other countries. Southern University sends out approximately 100 students each year to serve as student missionaries around the world.

The largest employer in Collegedale is McKee Foods home of Little Debbie snack cakes with annual sales of about 1.1 billion dollars. The company was founded by the late O.D. and Ruth McKee in 1934 when they bought a three person, one-cent cookie and vanilla wafer shop and converted it to a five-cent cake bakery.

The housing market remains strong in the Collegedale area, as it´s a safe family oriented community, with good access to Chattanooga and Cleveland. In 2006 the Chattanooga Association of Realtors showed 37 homes sold.
